Kerala, The abode of music

Kerala is the beautiful landscape in the southern part of India. We calls it "god's own country". In this article I will try to tell you about some of the contributions of Kerala to music.

Swathi Thirunal, was a kerala king who loved music and made many beautiful songs in Carnatic music. He also invited great musicians to his court and enjoyed music.

Iriyimman Thampi wrote beautiful songs to and, one of his songs was used to make our children sleep.

Chembai Vaidya Natha Bhagavathar was a great singer who devoted his life to music. He was a devotee of lord Vishnu.

Yesudas is one of the singers of modern Kerala. A disciple of Chembai, He is considered one of the best singers in Kerala.

The melodies of S. Janaki thrills the world even now. She sang for many movies.

Chithra is one of the most heard female voices in Malayalam music.

Usha Uthup is one of the most famous singers in the world. Her pop music is very famous.

The songs of the writer Vayalar Rama Varma will be in the minds of everybody who loves music. His son also writes music.

Vineeth Sreenivasan created history as a background singer when his father and actor Sreenivasan enacted the duet sung by him.

Venugopal and Madhu balakrishnan are budding singers of Kerala
