Any business you may think about thrives at the mercy of advertising. It then follows that you don't know what you are missing as a business man if you don't advertise your business. There are two basic forms of advertising as far as this context is concerned; they are as follows: printed advertising and internet advertising.

Printed advertising is primarily for offline businesses. But you may be interested to know that advertisements these days are not so classified that one has to place ads for offline businesses specifically in publications such as newspapers and magazines because most of the businesses that have online or internet presence also have offline presence. So, as a matter of fact, you can advertise online and offline businesses in printed advertising media and in internet advertising media. Here, we are looking at internet advertising.

However, this context is not meant to give you a definition of advertising. It is meant to show you how you can advertise your web site without spending a dime. The fact remains that there are paid advertisements on the internet. You can pay as much as $1000 to advertise your site. It is also a fact that you can advertise your site on the internet without spending your money. Yes, of course you can advertise your online product on the internet without touching your credit card.

One of the ways to do this is to send original articles of good quality to several directories online; make sure that your web link is at the end of your posts or articles. Another way is to start blogging; put your web link at the end of your posts and comments.

You can also participate in forums that allow you to have a signature file that contains your web site. There are a thousand and one forums, discussion boards, etc that allow that. You can find out! Just send your posts and comments to the forum and people or members of the forum will automatically read or at least see your signature file which contains your web site as they go through your posts and comments. But make sure that your posts and comments are of good or high quality not junks thrown together from somewhere.

More so, there are free classified ads sites on the internet; just find them and place your ads there. An example of such sites is Craigslist in the United States. You can also rent out your web space to others and asked them to place your ads banner on their web page.
