Carpet is made from a number of different materials these days. It can therefore be difficult to choose which material is right for you. Read this article for some information on the different materials used which might help you make a decision.

One material used in carpet is called Olefin or Polypropylene. This fiber is softer than most others and therefore does not hold up to wear as well. It is extremely resistant to staining however although it does have an affinity to oil and grease. It is also a very affordable carpet being on the lower end price wise.

Another common material is Nylon. Nylon is a much more durable material than Olefin being that it is much harder. This gives it the ability to bounce back after being stepped on and resistant to long term wear. It is more expensive than Olefin but well worth the price if you are looking for a long lasting fiber.

Polyester is yet another material which has become popular. Modern polyester carpets are more able to withstand wear than those made in the past. It has the benefit of being very stain resistant and quite affordable.

On the higher end you have wool carpet. Wool has a great feel and texture and stands up well to wear and traffic. It is however very expensive and is not in most people's budgets. You can not beat the look and feel of wool carpet though so if you have the budget you should get it.

Those are the basic carpet fibers from which you have to chose. Hopefully this article has given you enough information to now make an educated decision on which one is right for you. Learn more about Clearwater carpet cleaning service at the authors website on local cleaning in Clearwater.
