Fundraising takes time and patience. Keeping this in mind from the beginning will help you to run a successful fundraising campaign. Non profit charities are always looking for new ways to fundraise and asking for volunteers to help with the programs. By keeping these 5 Must Knows in mind your volunteers and leaders will stay motivated and focused.

When you begin any fundraising campaign make sure your volunteers feel for your cause in there hearts. If you solicit help from just anyone your success will be limited. If on the other hand you find people who really care about your cause and want to see a better future you are well on your way to success.

When enlisting help make sure you fully understand the skills and abilities of your volunteers. You should also be aware of why they are volunteering. Is it truly out of love for your cause or just something they feel they should do.

Look for money first. If the fundraising campaign you are planning is going to require a large outlay of money solicit for this first. You may be surprised at how many corporations want to help and are willing to cut large checks to get your started.

Remember that tax deductible donations are a priority for many corporations and wealthy individuals. They are always willing to help a little sooner when they can see the tax benefits to there bottom line. If your charity is not yet legally recognized as a tax deductible donation take the time to look into becoming one. You may find that you can raise more capitol that way.

Take time to plan a variety of events. This way you can tap into all segments of society when asking for donations. You will find that large campaigns that employ many strategies will be far more effective in raising funds than isolated small fundraising programs.
