No Convention is Complete Without Free Items

How fun would Christmas be if you did not get any presents?

Sure, the things you take home from a convention might not be the most exciting things in the world, but it is still nice to get them, and they still provide a distinctive purpose for your company.

You should never go to a convention without something free to hand to people. Even if you just have a number of pens for people to partake of, go for it, because odds are good they will make use of them and they will have your company name close to them for months after the convention is over.

There is no right or wrong way to go about deciding what kind of items to hand out, either. Do you want the practical handout, the not so practical handout, or the so far from practical you would not even use the word in the same sentence as your handout?

What exactly do these three categories encompass?

Well, if you want to go down the practical route you might get something like folder printing done. Hand someone a nice folder with your company name on the front of it. The better the folder is the greater the odds of them keeping it with them and making good use out of it. Since they are likely to be picking up a number of papers by just walking through the convention, now they have something to hold it in.

Along with folder printing you could go for notepads, pens, staplers, or all sorts of other office devices. They come in handy and people can use them. The next category contains things that can be put to a use; they just might not be associated with anything related to business. Think little toys to play with, like a Frisbee with your company name on it, or some other little gadget. Yes, they do have a use in some sense, and they are fun to mess around with, but they do not really serve much of a real purpose beyond that.

For the last category, I really could not tell you anything specific. It would kind of be counter to the nature of the category to mention anything, because the whole point is to hand people something so strange they never would have considered getting one. I am sure budgets will have to be carefully considered before going very far down this path, but the name of the game is unique. If you give them something interesting enough, they might not keep it around for very long, but they will remember who you are.

No matter what just be sure you are giving people something. You do not want to be the only company there not handing out something free to people. That is one thing you do not want to be remembered for.
