There are many herbs that are known for their ability to boosting energy. Stimulating herbs are popular as a natural alternative to prescription medications. However, if you choose to use herbal remedies to overcome chronic fatigue it's important to note that these plants can still pack quite a punch. Ginseng

Gotu Kola is an herb from India that works to rejuvenates and replenish the body after a long and tiring day of work. Like many other energy-boosting herbs, gotu kola is said to improve brain function. It's also a useful remedy for anyone who wants to naturally strengthen and build their muscles.

Maitake

Maitake is a mushroom so, technically, it doesn't belong under the "herbs for energy" category. Mushrooms are fungi, but maitake works just as effectively as all of these other energy boosting herbs. Because it stimulates the immune system, it's very helpful as a natural remedy for fighting chronic fatigue.

Ashwagandha

The ashwagandha is also known as winter cherry. If you're looking for herbs to boost your energy, then this is the rejuvenating tonic you need. It's said that drinking this herb as a tea will give you endurance and may even increase sexual stamina. Ashwagandha also functions as an anti-inflammatory, so if you're feeling sluggish from joint pain it will help relieve the symptoms of arthritis and rheumatism.

Licorice

Licorice can give you a little jumpstart if your fatigue is caused by overexertion. This root herb acts like a natural steriod, stimulating the body to produce adrenaline. Licorice can have a very strong effect and this herb shouldn't be used to boost energy regularly. Not only can it interfere with other medication, but it can lose its effectiveness with frequent use.

Astragalus

Astragalus is an herb used for energy that is especially effective with fatigue that is caused by a respiratory complication such as asthma, sinusitis or nasal congestion. This helps strengthen the immune system, which makes you recover from stress and sickness faster.
