How to plan your future career? This question is probably one of the hardest not only for those who study in college, but for many of those who already has a full- time job. Career planning can be a long and tough process that can lead to change of occupation. That is why it is very important to define goals and to be eager to reach them. First of all, it is important to answer following questions about your self- assessment honestly:

1.What are you interested in?

2.Do you like mental work or manual work?

3.Do you like to communicate with people?

4.Do you have leadership skills?

5.Do you have any developmental needs?

After you have answered all the questions above and analyzed them, you may think of following:

Possible Options

1.Are there particular industries you would like to work in?

2.What particular occupations are you interested in?

3.Research the labor market considering the previous point

4.Check the financial side: are you satisfied with an average salary?

5.Are there opportunities for career growth in this field?

Once you are satisfied with possible options and found specific information about some job positions you are interested in, you should think of actions that can help you to get this job.

Important Actions Include:

1.Getting specific information about the company you would like to work for. Internet is the easiest way to do it.

2.Resume preparation (Go on line to search for templates and examples and write your own. Try to include all the relevant information considering your education and work experience)

3.Writing cover letter (It should be unique and show your desire and ability to work)

4.Job interview preparation (Think of your behavior and find answers to the most frequently asked questions)

All steps listed above are very important for career planning. Try not to miss any step. Therefore, you will get an excellent result and find a job that will satisfy both: you and your employer.
