If you're a web site owner, chances are you've heard about Adsense. You're probably considering it for your own site because you've heard about other web site owners who have made thousands of dollars from Adsense. It's only logical that you would want the same thing for your site. However, being able to actually maximize Adsense profits is considerably harder than simply placing the ads on your site.

One thing to remember is that huge Adsense earnings are not typical. The fact is that most web site owners with Adsense on their site make little to nothing from it. You're most likely wondering, "Why is this? Why do some people make a lot of money while others don't?" The reason is because the people who are making lots of money have figured out how to maximize Adsense profits. Those who haven't figured this out don't make money, plain and simple.

In this article, we are going to tell you exactly how to put ads on your site so that you will make money. Of course, the amount of money you make is dependent on the amount of traffic you get, but if you are able to correctly place ads you will at least maximize Adsense profits from the traffic you get.

What do I do?

When you first create your site, make sure it is full of quality content. Further, make sure you have sufficient keyword density on the site in each content page. If you don't know what keyword density is, it's the number of keywords in your content divided by the total number of words. You want to aim for a keyword density of 3-5% to be attractive to search engines (which will list your site in their search engine result pages - SERPS - so that people are easily able to find them).

Now, you're thinking "What keywords should I use?" The answer is to use keywords relevant to your niche. If you're doing a TV show site, try using various keywords relevant to that like "tv shows", "lost tv show", "the simpsons tv show" etc. The point is, always use keywords that help to describe your site and the content of the current page. That way you'll attract targeted visitors. That's perhaps an interesting point to re-mention. You should make sure that each page is optimized and that the optimization includes some site generic words/phrases.

After you've created your site and put content on it, it's time to integrate Adsense so that you can make money.

Tip #1 to Maximize Adsense Profits: Put Ads on Your Page in a Subtle Way

Visitors are turned off by sites with blatantly obvious advertising. Thus, you should put advertising on your site that isn't too blatant. Believe it or not, but if you tweak the way you display ads on your site, you can maximize Adsense profits.

Instead of having a huge banner at the top of your page, why not use a smaller banner? Further, why not use a header type banner that fits in with your links header? The number one rule for correct Adsense usage is to make it fit on your site. It should never stick out like a sore thumb

Tip #2 to Maximize Adsense Profits: Place Your Ads So That They Are Visible to Visitors Who Are Reading Your Content

If you want to maximize Adsense profits, you must get more people to click. The easiest way to get more people to click on the ads is to display them in such a way that they are always visible to a visitor on your site. One suggestion is to place a tall, 20% width (of the whole page) skyscraper ad on the left of your page. As the visitors scroll down to read content, they'll still see the ads.

You'll also want a nice ad block that fits into your header (as mentioned in step #1). When a visitor checks out a site, the first thing they see is the header. Thus, it's a good idea to have good ads there because they will see them and might want to click on them.

Tip #3 to Maximize Adsense Profits: Put an Ad Block at the Bottom of Your Content

Placing an ad block at the bottom of the content is a great idea. It gives your visitor one last chance to click an ad before exiting the page. So if your visitors were too pre-occupied with reading the content to click before, now they'll want to click the ads.

So, to summarize the steps, you'll want to place ads on your site so that they are visible but not too blatant. You'll place ads in the header of the page, left side of the page and bottom of the page. The ads should be close to the content, as that's what the visitor will be focusing on. If you correctly place ads, you'll maximize Adsense profits.
