In today's world of advanced communication we - as consumers - expect a certain level of functionality from everything from our computers to our cell phones. The cell phone, especially, has single-handedly transformed how we communicate; allowing us to make and receive phone calls regardless of where we are or what we are doing. The birth of this industry has spawned an ever-growing community of cell phone service providers, formulated to deliver the latest technological advancements to customers far and wide - including phones and service plans.

As customers, choosing from among these service providers comes down to a matter of comparison shopping - seeking out those providers that will give us the features we need at the price we can afford. Choosing a cell phone often comes down to the same thing - finding a phone that has all the bells and whistles that will make our lives easier but still delivers quality communication at an affordable price. The Cingular cellular phone, among others, has achieved enormous popularity in this regard - enticing customers with its sleek style and dependable function.

Cingular Wireless was first formed in 2001 - as a combined effort between AT&T and BellSouth. With the increasing popularity of the their service and cellular phone - AT&T acquired BellSouth at the end of 2006. It is now wholly owned by communications giant, AT&T and holds rank as the largest wireless manufacturer in the United States - with over 60 millions customers.

Cingular has since become synonymous with service in the marketplace; known by consumers for its user-friendly rollover minutes, family plans, and its GoPhone plan that allows you to pay as you go without being tied to an annual contract. But just as popular, and just as well known, is the cellular phone offered throughout an extensive product line that offers features such as music, cameras, video, Internet capabilities, and PDA/Smartphone models.

One of the more popular cellular phone models is the Cingular 3125 - a flip open Smartphone that is supported by Windows Mobile 5.0. The 2125 Smartphone offers connections to the computer and Bluetooth capabilities. Pocket PCs offer communication and organization in one slim design. The 8125 Pocket PC connects with computer programs that you need to get the job done no matter where you are. The 8525 steps Pocket PC up a notch by offering global coverage, mobile email, and lightening fast 3G design.

Cingular often teams with mega-giants in the industry to create cutting edge products that will take communication to the next level. Evidence of this can most recently be seen in their work with Samsung to produce the new SYNC cellular phone that provides all the media you could possibly want in one compact phone including video, music, Bluetooth, and camera capabilities. But the innovation doesn't stop there; Cingular is currently working with Apple to produce the world's first iphone - the first phone/i-pod combination that will once again transform technology upon its release.

As communication and technology changes you can be assured that Cingular - and the companies like it - will work hard to stay on the cutting edge, providing their customers with what they need to stay connected. The cellular phone will be among the phones that will morph before our eyes - bringing us new and better ways to communicate.
