Rackspace Managed Hosting, announced today that it has entered into an agreement to host the MailBigFile service. MailBigFile allows users to send large files in a way that does not over-burden recipient's email inboxes.
The MailBigFile service allows the user to upload a file onto the website and type in the recipient's email address. The recipient is then notified by email to go to a site where he or she can download the file. The service is popular with web-design, new media and advertising companies who regularly need to send high-resolution images to clients. Users benefit from sending and receiving electronic copies of files rather than having to incur the expense and delay of using couriers.
Glen Scott, technical director at Design Solution, the creators of MailBigFile said: "We chose Rackspace to host MailBigFile as we need the highest level of reliability for this service. We gain our competitive edge by ensuring the service is fast, reliable and available, so we needed a web hosting partner who we knew we could depend on. We also sell the MailBigFile functionality on to businesses that then run it under their own brand. Corporate customers need to be confident that the performance will never damage their reputation. Rackspace has been our hosting partner since Design Solution was first established in 1997 and as our requirements have evolved and grown Rackspace has been flexible and has always surpassed our expectations."
Jacques Greyling, UK managing director at Rackspace Managed Hosting said: "With MailBigFile, Design Solution has been able to use its industry expertise to create a service that is perfectly suited to media and design companies. MailBigFile demands a high quality and reliable web-hosting provider. Rackspace has provided rock-solid hosting to back this up, handling major spikes in traffic without problems."
