If you want your skin to look and feel its best, then you are going to have to rely on cosmetic formulas that contain natural skin care oils. Natural compounds penetrate the skin effectively, very closely resemble our skin's natural oil, and provide essential nutrients and antioxidants. There is some confusion when it comes to which of these compounds are the most effective for treating the skin and I will attempt to give you some guidance on what it is you need.

The most popular "natural oil" at least from the cosmetic company standpoint is mineral oil, which is part of a family of petroleum based moisturizers that includes paraffin wax and petrolatum. I am using the term moisturizers very loosely here, because petroleum compounds don't moisturize your skin. In fact, they do the exact opposite by causing your sebaceous glands to severely reduce the amount of sebum they are producing.

Petroleum based natural skin care oils will make your skin far drier over time, and they will do several other things that affect the health of your skin as well. These dense compounds cannot be effectively absorbed by the skin, and so they form a film on the skin surface when applied. These substances will clog your pores, attract dirt and grime to the skin, and interfere with the natural exfoliation process.

What are known as "essential oils" provide some benefit to the skin by supplying antioxidants, but they don't really offer much help otherwise. These substances are hydrophobic liquids that contain the volatile aroma compounds of the plants from which they are distilled. They are useful in aromatherapy due to the powerful fragrances they emit, but they are not very effective in actually providing moisture to the skin.

Natural skin care oils to look for are components such as Jojoba, avocado, and grape seed oils. These ingredients are extremely effective moisturizers, and each has a specific beneficial affect on the skin aside from providing moisture. Jojoba balances sebum production so that the skin neither becomes too oily, avocado oil promotes collagen creation, and grape seed oil inhibits the behavior of harmful enzymes that break your tissues and polymer down.

While not an oil, Phytessence Wakame kelp extract is also known to slow down the decomposition of hyaluronic acid. There is at least one manufacturer that combines the power of Phytessence Wakame and grape seed oil to maximize tissue and polymer levels. This same corporation has also developed potent ingredients that will promote a significant increase in collagen and elastin production.

These ingredients are known as Cynergy TK and Nano-Lipobelle H-EQ10, and what they are is an enzyme and protein complex synthesis and a molecularly reduced form of CoQ10. These ingredients join Phytessence Wakame, grape seed oil, and the other natural skin care oils described above. The products this company develops are truly a revolution in the anti aging skin care game.

A formula that features truly effective natural skin care oils, and will return firmness and elasticity to the skin is a product you want as part of your daily routine.
