In the beginning of your spiritual development it is very common to think that what we are getting within our minds is our own personal thoughts. Now this is very much justified. You may have never before sat still and waited for things to be placed in your mind.

Because these kind of psychic development skills are "mental" mediumship, we hear them within our minds in the same place we hear our own thoughts. The first step to understanding the difference is to simply say what you are hearing, seeing in you mind or feeling in your body and wait for a response. Over time you will begin to realise that the information you are receiving is some thing that you did not ask for, it just came into your mind at that point. These things are relevant, just accept them!

Everything that you see, feel and hear and anything that happens to you, including your own memories, is relevant when communicating with spirit. In your personal spiritual development you will see that with meditation exercises you will learn to visualise. As you become more acceptant of the visualisation you receive, you will be able to accept the visualisation as part of a message or idea, symbolic or specific.

In a recent circle one of our sitters was guided through a guided meditation to get a link to spirit for another member of the circle. She kept saying, "I am not sure if it is me or not". She was asked to just give what she got. We just want to establish you are getting a link. The evidence in the beginning of your spiritual development is not important.

She said, "Well, I have got this man here who looks like he was in the army. I think his name is Ian Jones. I get the feeling that he is for that man over there (she pointed at another sitter) and he has just come to pay his regards from old army days." She looked at him and the circle leader waiting to be told she was wrong! The sitter she had pointed at simply said, "Yes I know Ian, he was in the army with me. He passed away recently".

Giving what you get honestly is the most important thing. It does not matter how you get it, but being honest with what you are seeing is important and being brave enough to just let it out will help any one who is trying to increase their spiritual growth. It is a very good way to grow.

Often when getting a message for people in a psychic school, you will find that what you receive is an old memory of yours. Spirit will take your memories and use them to help you paint a picture in your meditation. Do not be afraid to accept it and use it. The only way you are going to find out how things work for yourself is through trial and error. Give it a go.

Don't be afraid to get it wrong when you are developing, it is part of the learning process.
