In the past, if you wanted to bind or edit a bound document, you needed a desktop binding machine. However, recognizing that it is sometimes essential for sales people to bind or edit documents in the field, GBC developed two new binding styles called ProClick and ZipBind. These binding styles allow users to easily open and close their reports and documents using a simple zipper tool. Pages can be added or removed any time providing a new and innovative tool for use by sales people.

The new GBC Proclick system is designed for use with a 3:1 pitch hole pattern (3 holes per inch). For users who already have a wire binding machine, no additional machine is needed. For users who need the portability of the Proclick system, GBC released the P50 binding punch. The Proclick P50 is a small binding punch that is about the size of a desktop 3 hole punch. It is portable enough that a sales person could easily carry it with them in their car to punch additional sheets and add pages to their presentations or proposals. Additionally, every box of GBC Proclick binding supplies comes with a Proclick Zipper tool. These tools make opening and closing the GBC ProClick spines a snap.

GBC ZipBind spines work the same way as GBC Proclick does. However, GBC ZipBind is designed for use with a 19 hole comb binding hole pattern. This means that users who already own a comb binding machine have a whole new option for binding their reports and presentations. For the sake of portability, GBC developed the CombBind C50 binding machine for use with both plastic combs and ZipBind spines. The CombBind C50 is the same size as the ProClick P50 and can be easily carried by a sales rep who needs to edit presentations in the field. GBC ZipBind supplies also include a special zipper tool for editing in the field.

One of the downsides to these new styles of binding is that they are fairly limited in size and color options. GBC ProClick spines are available in Black and Navy and in three sizes (small, medium and large). GBC ZipBind spines are available in Black and Frost and in two sizes (small and medium). Although these sizes and colors are somewhat limited, these new Binding systems work for the majority of presentations on the market and provide a new and innovative way of presenting your documents to your customers.
