The Bride And Groom Need Some Quiet Time

Most likely, the bride and groom preparing for marriage both hold down full time jobs.  Or perhaps they are college students and also work part time.  They may also be responsible for children from a previous marriage.  On top of all these demands, now they must cope with a million decisions regarding wedding attire, guest lists, attendants, catering and photography, just to name a few.

It is important, during this exciting and stressful time, for the bride and groom to "schedule" time for each other.  After they turn off their television, computer and cell phones, there are suggestions to help them reconnect physically and spiritually with each other:

Travel out of town and spend the night in a hotel. Put on a collection of Tony Bennett love songs and make spagetti and meatballs together.Play Frisbee.Write each other a long love letter and read it out loud by candlelight.Find a new board or card game (bridge, hearts, poker) and spend the evening learning how to play it.Practice a funny/sexy/romantic dance routine for your wedding reception.  Your guests will be delighted!Make a homemade kite together and fly it at the park.Write a list of new traditions you would like to start together.  For instance, "We will celebrate our anniversary every five years at our honeymoon location," or "We will renew our vows every ten years."Treat yourself to a fine meal.  Wear your best clothes.  Order a drink and appetizers before your meal.  Eat slowly and make it last.  Talk about your love for one another and about your dreams.  Don't speculate about whether Aunt Susan is bringing her nasty boyfriend to the wedding.  In fact, don't discuss the wedding at all.  This is your quiet time and you deserve it.
