Improving Your Instincts, Strength And Motor Skills By Doing Bo Staff Exercises
Bo staff exercises can be broken down in to defensive exercises or offensive exercises. If you are defending yourself using the bo staff then you must be aware of how to position your body in order to prevent damage to yourself. To break it down further you have to know how to position your feet as well as your hands on the bo staff. You must maintain a strong stance with your feet and legs when defending against strikes using the bo staff otherwise you can lose your balance and that would not be a good thing. This would put you in a vulnerable position against your opponent. You also have to know how to defend using the bo staff in a manner that will allow you to launch a counter strike catching your enemy off guard.
Along with a good defense using the bo staff you must know how to strike your opponent with this stick. There are many exercises and techniques that you can use to strike your opponent using the bo staff. In order to effectively strike your opponent that will render then immobile you must become one with your bo. Your bo staff must become a natural extension of your being. If you can do this and become with your bo staff then you are ahead of the game.
There are various bo staff exercises that you can do that will help you defend against strikes as well as attacking. You can basically stand with your feet shoulder length apart and with both hands begin to rotate the bow just like a windmill. You can do this over and over again until you become comfortable with it. Once you become comfortable twirling the bo staff in one direction you can start rotating it in the opposite direction.
This bo staff exercise is perfect for the beginner and even veterans to sharpen their instincts and motor skills with the bo stick.
