There are many ways to search for a lost person. I will provide a number of them here to get you started and point to other ways for you to search.

1. The first thing to do is ask friends and relatives of the lost person you are searching for if they have an idea where they may have gone.
2. Gather all of the personal information that you can about this lost person, such as: full name, date of birth, last address, last phone number, social security number, names of other family members, where they were born, schools attended, places where they have worked, etc.
3. Check with former employers and people that they worked with.
4. Look in the area phone book where they used to live and places they may have gone. Local municipal libraries usually have out of state phone books that you can research into or local phone companies may have these also.
5. You can do a check with the local sheriff's office for any criminal records. Sometimes there is a fee for this.
6. Go to the local courthouse to get information about marriages, divorces, deaths, real estate records and any other information that may be available about this lost person.
7. Check with the local police for any record of arrests, tickets, or warrants.
8. See if you can catch the letter carrier at a former address of the person, they may have turned in a change of address.
9. If you know whether they had a car and the make, model, year and color you may be able to get information from the local DMV office.
10. Looking at a copy of a previous phone bill, especially a cell phone bill, will show who the lost person talked to last. Calling that number or numbers may give you information where they may have gone.

These are some of the ways to help you find that lost person. You can also do searches on the internet. Sometimes some local government records are available online. You can also hire a private investigator to do some or all of the research for you. There is also a lot of information about locating missing persons by looking into the online search engines. There are online sites that, for a fee, will do some of this research or you can purchase books and manuals about doing this type of research. It is my desire that some of this information will help you find the missing person.
