The results are in and experts agree that your most economical and highly used form of marketing is your business card. Unfortunately too many people use their business card as a calling card, what a waste. Everyone that sees your business card is a potential customer or can refer you to one. Why waste the opportunity?

Your business card works for you 24/7, doesn't take a vacation, doesn't knock off early on Friday's, and most importantly doesn't take a commission from the profits that it generates!

Look at your business card right now. Does it have your name, address, phone number, fax, and email? Guess what? Nobody cares! When it comes down to having to contact you your prospective customer will find a way. But you haven't even given them a reason to do business with you yet and you are already set to close the deal. You didn't convey why they should do business with you, what benefit they will receive from doing business with you, why they should do business with you as opposed to your competition, or why they should trust you. All anyone wants to know is what you can do for him or her and how he or she will benefit from doing business with you, period.

Two types of people will get your business card, those given a card by you or your representative, and those that get it down the line. Either way your business card must present your image as well as tell someone why he or she should do business with you.

If you hand your card to someone it must generate enough interest that it prompts the person to ask questions or inquire about your business. This allows you the opportunity to tell them the benefits of doing business with you, and build trust. Your window of opportunity may be only a few seconds so you need a business card that is going work.

When you are not present to do the talking your business card must work even harder. In that few seconds it must convey why the person should do business with you and not your competition. It must SCREAM the benefits that you provide.

Creating a business card that is going to become your most powerful marketing tool is not as simple as adding color or flashy text. Using an on line template is not going to design a business card for YOU, it is going to look exactly like what it is, a generic template. It is going to look like a manufactured card that is the same as the business card used by thousands of other companies, possibly your competition. A business card which says on the back "Free business cards by ***** *****" is going to present the image that you are cheap and offer a cheap product or service. You have worked hard and invested a lot of time and money in your business, why would you trust a boring one color business card printed on cheap paper or made from a generic template that is like 1000's of other business cards out there, possibly your competition's, to represent you, your company, and your product?
