Schools: Significant Institutions of Human Society

Can you imagine what the world might have been to mankind without schools? The United States of America can never be the great country that it is today. Europe could not have been the wonderful continent as it has been for centuries. Every country in every continent of the world certainly has one or more schools that has become part or have played a vital role in their history. Humanity and civilization could not have flourished if these learning institutions are not around.

Schools are institutions where education or the process of being educated is undertaken. They are basically designed to allow the learning process to be done, that is the exchanges of knowledge and information between the teacher and its students and among the students themselves. A school is a place where there is a free flow of knowledge. It is a place where students acquire and teachers share their knowledge.

Education and schools are two inseparable things. It is inconceivable to think that one can stand without the other. Just how can the youth get educated if there is no school, no teachers, no libraries or laboratories, and no classrooms? Certainly, educating the youth cannot be effectively done without these institutions. Schools are definitely a very important place to effectively impart and develop on the youth the knowledge and skills they need. Now that technology as well as society has advanced, the educational institutions must not be left behind.

It is a good thing that the Internet has been conceived. This amazing piece of technological advancement has been of great help to everybody. The Internet has been beneficial to everyone, individuals, groups, institutions and to just about every human being. Schools can really take advantage of the convenience the Internet can provide. They can use this technology to reach more people across the globe. That means that the educational institutions can teach more students than they previously had. Accordingly, they can also acquire all the materials they need through the Internet. It can also be an avenue for interactions with other schools for the sharing of their materials and pooling of resources.

The contributions that schools have made in society are priceless. Great leaders are shaped by these institutions. Majority of the most influential persons in the world has certainly been educated from schools. They started, practiced and enhanced their leadership skills at schools. Their talents are developed largely by the learning institution where they studied.

Undoubtedly, schools are a needed institution in order for a society to progress. It is a place where the heirs to the society are trained. It is where government officials, business leaders, artists, economists, professionals, or just about every one has trained. A school's aim is to arm the youth with the necessary weapons of knowledge and intelligence. It is the school's responsibility is to prepare the youth before they face their responsibility of taking care of the society when they become adults. The society's progress, therefore, depends largely on how the schools prepare the youth to face their tasks in the society.
