Why Not To Steal In Link's Awakening Dx

Anyone that has played Link's Awakening or the DX version have at one point been tempted to steal from the item shop. This is for 5 simple reasons.

Reasons to steal

1.) The Shovel should not cost 500 rupees.
2.) The Bow & Arrows should not cost 999 rupees.
3.) It makes the first few dungeons a lot easier.
4.) Link is unable to defeat certain bosses without the Bow and Arrows.
5.) Bombs and Arrows do not grow on trees.

In Link's Awakening there is no real purpose not to steal besides number being called a Thief the whole game. In Link's Awakening DX they changed the screen skip glitch and added an alternative ending so they worked out stealing hence number 1 below. Since a majority of people steal anyway number 1 is the only reason not to steal unless they are trying for an additional handicap.

Reasons not to steal

1.) If you steal just once you are not allowed back in the shop without dying. If you are trying for the real ending of Link's Awakening DX you can not die in order to see it.

2.) Instead of people referring you by your name they refer to you as Thief. Even the Fairy Queen and Wind Fish refer to Link as Thief. I mean how much of a soul do you really have if the Fairy Queen is calling you a Thief?

3.) Rupees are plentiful by the end of the game. Basically every other chest on Death Mountain is for 50-200 rupees.

Well those are the only legitimate reasons but you will probably end up stealing anyway.
