Keeping Track of Your Time

There can be a lot of things you have to consider when it comes to your marketing. The more extensive that marketing campaign becomes the more complicated everything gets.

You might have multiple marketing pushes that you're working on at all times, things that need to get done right away and things you're planning for the future. You'll have the big marketing pushes along with a whole slew of smaller, everyday types of marketing.

This is a lot of stuff to keep track of, and if you start to let it get behind you might find yourself falling very far behind in the business world very fast.

The best way to make sure you don't get bogged down is by keeping careful track of what you need and when the best time is to do it.

There are going to be three primary different types of marketing you need to consider. The first is the large marketing pushes coming up in the future. You know what they are, you know when they will be, and you need to plan them out as far in advance as you can.

The second is the big marketing pushes that are happening right now. These are the ones you've already planned, or the ones that came about in some form of short term notice, forcing you to act quickly and take care of them.

Lastly is the small marketing that you'll be doing every day. This is business cards or folder printing. This is about the kind of marketing that isn't really a set marketing push, but part of your normal workings. These are just as important as the larger marketing pushes, but because they are smaller, you can get them done very early.

So how do you manage your time? At the very beginning the best thing to do is plan out your marketing as far in advance as you can. Make sure you know about all of the big pushes you can as early as possible. Structure your time around this, but make sure you keep your schedule thin enough so that if something comes up out of no where you have time to work on it. The father in advance you're planning things the more time you'll naturally have, so this shouldn't be as much of a problem.

Make sure as well that you get the small things like folder printing or business cards out of the way very early and get the largest orders done you can. Try to get enough folders printed at once to last you through the end of the year or longer. Now you don't have to worry about it for a long time.

Managing anything has to do with figuring out how to best distribute your time. The more prepared you are the better positioned you'll be to do just that.
