There are a lot of games that are available to be played today, but too often the younger generation turns to video games, instead of going outside. In order to get people outside more, there has to be a good reason for them to do so. They have to feel that whatever they are going to get to do outside has merit, is fun, or will be worthwhile. One of the games that everyone can play and enjoy outside is the Cornhole game. This game is very easy to play both physically and intellectually, but it is also a lot of fun. This makes it popular with families in many areas of the country, and it also helps to bring the enjoyment of the game to people who might have previously not been aware of it. To play the Cornhole game, a person can buy a set or he or she can build a set. Basic woodworking tools and skills are all that are needed for a person to make his or her own Cornhole board, and the bags can be made from simple materials with basic sewing skills. However, deciding whether to build or to buy is a completely personal choice. The important thing is to do what feels right to get a set and then use it with family and friends.

To actually play the Cornhole game, a person needs to learn only very simply rules. The Cornhole board is two feet by four feet in size, with a hole in it. It is designed to set at an angle. The people who are playing the game stand a specific distance from the board, and they throw the bags at the board. Naturally, the goal is to get the bags to go through the hole, thereby scoring valuable points. If a person cannot get a bag through the hole but the bag lands on the board and remains there without falling off, points are also scored. However, this is not worth as much as actually getting the bag through the hole. The first person or team to reach twenty one points is declared the winner. These are very simple rules, and because of this almost everyone is able to understand how the game should be played. The very young to the very old can enjoy playing the game with friends and family members, helping it to gain popularity all across the country.

Another important feature that makes the Cornhole game so popular is that it is not physically demanding. The bags are not at all heavy, and they are not difficult to throw. They are gently tossed from a reasonable distance, not pitched like a baseball, so almost anyone could partake of the game without feeling as though he or she was struggling too much with the bags or exerting himself or herself too much. This is particularly important for very young children, the elderly or infirm, or people with chronic medical conditions that severely limit their levels of activity. Because it is so easy to play the Cornhole game, it is something that basically every person could play and enjoy.
