Trust And Obey Part Four

The conquest of the Israelites spread like a lightning bolt. All the countries that lived within the boundaries of the Promised Land were in utter fear for their lives. Kings who had strong fortified cities within massive stone walls trembled as the stories flooded in telling them how easily Israel fought and defeated everyone in their path.

Kings everywhere came together in a united effort to stop God's people from entering into their country. Instead their defiance of God's will was met with utter devastation. No one could stand up to the power behind the Israelite army.

Israel held tightly to the Laws of Moses doing everything commanded. Because of each man's faithfulness a supernatural ability took over each fighting soldier giving them the ability to stand and defeat a thousand men.

Leviticus 26:7&8, "You will be victorious over your enemies; five of you will be able to defeat a hundred, and a hundred will be able to defeat ten thousand."

Every promise in the Law was fulfilled because the Israelites made a conscious effort to remember the Laws and apply them to their lives. Their faithfulness to God's words empowered the Spiritual forces of the unseen heavenly kingdom and the Spirits of God ran to protect every soldier from harm while enabling them to defeat every person who tried to come up against them.

Hebrews 1: 14, "What are the angels, then? They are spirits who serve God and are sent by him to help those who are to receive salvation."

Conquering the Promised Land was an easy task and celebrated as each family became more and more wealthy from their quest. They took over cities and towns filled with beautiful homes. They divided up already sown fields and ripe vineyards. They ate of the land and became content from all of its vast wealth.

Joshua and the leaders relaxed believing no one could stop their crusade to conquer and inhibit the Promised Land.

Joshua 9: 3-6, "But the people of Gibeon, who were Hivites, heard what Joshua had done to Jericho and Ai, and they decided to deceive him. They went and got some food and loaded their donkeys with worn-out sacks and patched-up wineskins. They put on ragged clothes and worn-out sandals that had been mended. The bread they took with them was dry and moldy. Then they went to the camp at Gilgal and said to Joshua and the men of Israel, 'We have come from a distant land. We want you to make a treaty with us.'"

Joshua and the leaders were convinced they were telling the truth and they made a covenant of peace with them without consulting God. Three days later Joshua was stunned to find out that the Gibeonites actually lived near them.

During the entire time Tori and I were fighting to hold onto our kids it seemed as though we were continually forced to stand alone. No one, including our attorneys, seemed to care whether or not we would receive justice or what was in the best interest of our children.

Tori and I were constantly on our knees begging God to help us overcome all of these obstacles. God quieted our fears and He gave us supernatural strength. No matter how bad it got, God gave us the courage to not give in and to never give up.

So many times I asked God, if He made us like this, then why was the church and society so against us? God profoundly stated that the church has been deceived. Many churches were not following Him they were following Satan.

As a child I was taught that some church doctrines were wrong, but I didn't know that every church of every domination could be infiltrated and held captive by the serpent of hell. I thought that confessing that Jesus was the Son of God indicated that all were God's. Now I knew from what was happening to Tori and I that many churches were evil.

2 Peter 2: 1&2, "False prophets appeared in the past among the people, and in the same way false teachers will appear among you. They will bring in destructive, untrue doctrines, and will deny the Master who redeemed them, and so they will bring upon themselves sudden destruction. Even so, many will follow their immoral ways; and because of what they do, others will speak evil of the Way of truth."

Years later this became clear to me when my own son became a Southern Baptist minister. The Southern Baptist have over the years been known to reject homosexuals.

I sat in my son's living room telling him about the game of life and how the spiritual world interacts in each person's life. I explained how love is a sign of God and how Satan promotes hate as a means to destroy people.

I affirmed everything I had learned from my studies indicating that homosexuality had been around since the very beginning before the Law's of Moses ever existed. That it was a created lifestyle. I also stated that I was not Jewish and I am a child of grace, thus making any Laws written against homosexuality null and void.

He stated that the clergy who are leaders in the Southern Baptist Convention have given all churches the freedom to make up their own minds as to whether or not gays should be accepted. I was surprised and stunned at his words for this was a little known fact. If this is true why are families turning their backs on their children, parents, and friends?

Quickly my thoughts of shock brought me back to God's statement that not all churches were following Him. Clearly the clergy were involved in a huge cover up.

1John 2: 9-11, "Whoever says that he is in the light, yet hates his brother, is in the darkness to this very hour. Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and so there is nothing in him that will cause someone else to sin. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness; he walks in it and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has made him blind."

Holding tightly to God has helped me see the truth about the church. Many churches are the Anti-Christ. They are against Jesus Christ's message of love and grace.

Christ came to open the eyes of those who are blind and to help them see that this world is not what it seems. We are not here to live a good life. We are here to do battle for either the side of God or the side of Satan.

This world is a battle ground where clouds of deceit brought on by the lies of Satan often corrupt even those who are following God. This is the very reason why the Holy Spirit had to be sent to Jesus' followers.

Today we have been given the freedom to worship Christ within the temple of our own bodies. We are taught in our hearts and our minds how to love. Because we are not subject to the Laws, we can overcome the corrupt teaching of those in authority over the church.

This is the reason why people are leaving the churches. They are seeing the inconsistencies and understanding that the clergy are teaching them wrong!

Joshua's promise to the Gibeonites forced him to not destroy their country. His promise was in complete opposition to God's will, yet according to the Law they had to keep their word or they would be subject to destruction.

Joshua's solution was to force the Gibeonites into slavery. In later years Satan would use these people to corrupt the lives of the Israelites. They would intermarry and bring in false gods who would lead them away from the Laws of Moses and into a life separate from God.
