What Are You Worth?

What do you mean what am I worth? Are you talking about my net worth? How much money do I have in the bank? Or how many stock certificates I own, or how many mutual funds, or how much is in my IRA or 401k? No, to all of these.

No, I am asking you if you know what you are worth to God. Most people don't think they are worth very much or they have a false sense of humility when it comes to their own self worth. When they are out in the world they are full of themselves, but when they come to church they bawl and squall and tell God what an lowly worm they are. First of all they don't truly mean it and secondly they don't know what the word of God has to say about it, or they wouldn't act that way.

Lets take a look at the Word of God.

Phil:2:3: Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

The apostle Paul said through the Holy Spirit that we should esteem others better than ourselves. We are suppose to acknowledge the worth of others more than ourselves. We are not supposed to be conceited or vain. You see your worth has nothing to do which your ability, therefore you have nothing to glory in.

1Cor:1:27: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

We must acknowledge that in our own right we are nothing. However, when we do that, and acknowledge who we are in Christ Jesus, And begin to acknowledging how God sees us, and that He sees us through the blood of Jesus, then we are looking at ourselves as God is looking at us. You see, you are worth a great deal to the Father, He sent His Son to pay the ultimate price for you. Remember the parable about the pearl of great price.

Mt.13:45. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: 46. Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Jesus said the pearl was of great price. The pearl must have been worth a great deal if the price was so great, don't you think? He sold all he had, and bought it. We have been bought with a price. The price was paid by Jesus.

1Cor:6:20: For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

1Cor:7:23: Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.

Since we have been bought with a price, we must realize our value in the sight of God, and not be so frivolous with what we do with His property. As the apostle Paul said-- therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's and be not ye the servants of men.

1Jn:4:4: Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Mt:10:29. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father: 30. but the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

You might say I don't feel very valuable. What we feel should have nothing to do with it. God is not a man that He should lie. If He says we have value, and He has said that in His word, then that should settle it. We need to get our thinking in line with the Word of God. I've used this scripture before and I will continue to use it, because it is the truth, and if we can get a hold of this truth, we will start to prove out the Word of God.

Rom:12:2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Prove means to test, test the word of God. In other words, put God to the test, and make Him prove Himself on your behalf. You might say I don't know if I can do that or not. Well, He is the one telling us to do it. He must want us to put Him to the test if He is telling us to do it.

How do I do it? Good question. First of all you have to go to God with the answer, not the problem. He already knows the problem and He took care of it. Here again, we must line up our words with His words. If you have a need, go to the Father and praise Him first, then remind Him of His word, after all He's the one who told us to do it.

-- Revised Standard Isaiah 43:26. Put me in remembrance, let us argue together; set forth your case, that you may be proved right.

Honor Him by using His Words, the Greeks called this rhema. One of the meanings is, the written Word of God spoken out of your mouth. For example, if you have a financial need, go before Him and say thank you Father for your provision. You said in your Word in Phil:4:19: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Make it personal and say thank you Father for supplying all my need. If He has supplied your need, and He has, then you shouldn't go to Him saying you have a need, should you? I know this is contrary to our natural thinking, but if we want to get Gods results then we have to follow Gods directions.

If you need physical healing in your body go before the Lord and use His Words in the same way. Say out loud, Father according to your Word in Matthew 8:17. That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. And since you took my infirmities I need not take them. I cast this care on you. And I praise you that your Word is true.

This does not mean you don't have physical symptoms of illness, it just means you are denying the symptoms the right to be on your body. Praise God, His Word is true. Don't back down off of what you know in Gods Word to be true. His Word is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He never changes. We must come to the realization in our inner man that God loves us much more than we give Him credit or even know. He loves us and will take care of us, after all, we are that pearl of great price. Glory to God!

If you don't know Jesus, but want to meet Him and know that you have eternal life, all you have to do is pray this prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I come to you in the name of Jesus.
Your word says, "…and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out." (Jn.6:37),
So I know You won't cast me out, but You take me in,
And I thank you for it.
You said in your Word, "whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.'' (Ro. 10:13).
I am calling on Your name, So I know You have saved me now,
You also said, "…that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that

God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to
righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. " (Ro.10:9,10).
I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
I believe He was raised from the dead for my justification.
And I confess Him now as my Lord,
Because Your Word says, "… with the heart one believes to righteousness…" and I do believe with my heart,
I have now become the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Cor. 5:21),
And I am saved! Thank You, Lord!
I can now truthfully say, I see myself as a born again child of God!
Glory to God!!!! Amen.
