For those who are looking for an attention grabber Nokia 8860 Luna will deliver the goods. At a first glance it can rival Motorola's clamshell phone due to its design. The stainless steel body and smoked glass cover are more than enough to lure consumers. Its exorbitant price gives it a status of privilege and luxury.

For the last few years Nokia has been overshadowed by Motorola's thin clamshells, Samsung's black elegant sliders and Sony Ericsson's walkman phones. It's determined to win consumers back even though with only the use of seduction and appeal.

Nokia 8860 Luna's look and feel is enough to make you forget that you need a phone not an expensive shiny object. The question is does Luna deliver or deceive?

Features

As expected you can't have a perfect phone. It's either a piece of craftsmanship or a simply compact phone with layers of rich features. It turns out you cannot have both. Nokia 8860 Luna is meant to deceive. It has the basic features of cellular phones but don't offer anything beyond that.

It's quite heavy due to the steel in its body work. The design is impeccable and the sliding mechanism works seamlessly. The display is great and the keypad is covered with an opaque glass. The front is glossy while the back is polished. That click when you closed the phone is a proof of its metal bodywork.

It has 128 MB integrated memory. It also has GPRS, EDGE, microUSB and Bluetooth with A2DP. Other features are the FM Radio, Calendar, Calculator and Currency converter.

Cons

Nokia 8860 Luna is a pretty phone, nothing more nothing less. The interface, headphones, camera and video recorder is mediocre. There is no dedicated key on the side for taking pictures.

There is no 3G support, memory card slot and RDS on the FM radio. The interface is nothing special although its responds quickly. The music player is limited due to the paltry memory. The camera shoots with a low resolution. The organizer is only made up of the calendar and the calculator.

Like all Nokia 8 series it's all about the looks. It's basically a practical phone which compensates with its stunning design and steel bodywork. It's about looking good but not exactly doing right. On this phone appeal outweighs everything else. If you're the type of person who's not into details and prefer a head tuner than anything else, buy this phone, if you can afford it.
