Internet Marketing - One Step At A Time

With so many new Internet marketing products and courses being released, it's easy to loose focus and suffer from information overload. How can you keep up with all the new 'insider' secrets and still maintain a sense of direction while starting to build a business online?

The simple answer is, you can't. There's just too much information to digest and any attempt to keep up will cause your head to explode.

You may have heard the term, 'spinning your wheels'. This is when someone continually pursues new ideas and new information without ever applying what they already know. They're too busy chasing the next big 'secret' that they never realize the full potential of the information they just learned. Unfortunately, this problem affects most people who want to start an Internet business today. Without proper focus, they're doomed to never fully experience success online and ultimately give up.

Stairs were meant to be climbed one step at a time

Look, there's no way you can possibly implement every Internet marketing model the guru's teach you, so why should you waste time learning about them all? Instead, you should pick one model and learn everything you can about it, ignoring all the others.

The key when getting started is to pick one marketing model and concentrate 100% of your efforts on it until you're seeing a profit. It might even be a good idea to ignore any emails from gurus whose lists you're subscribed to if they do not relate to your current method or help with your business in any way. As far as other marketing techniques go, you should only be aware that they exist (and have some idea of what they're about) and that one day you may eventually explore them in more detail.

Yes, various marketing methods can compliment each other but you shouldn't worry about that yet. Even after you've started implementing a technique and it's starting to see a profit, don't be so eager to move on and try something new. You should first optimize what you're doing as much as you can; there are always ways to improve. Only after you feel there's nothing more you can do to improve your business using your current marketing strategy should you attempt to try another approach - one that compliments your current method.

Pick your bottom step and get climbing

The absolute best way to stop spinning your wheels is to start something, anything. It doesn't matter what you choose to do, just do it. Once you've picked a model and started implementing it, you will find you have a lot more focus. The next big marketing 'secret' no longer sidetracks you because you have direction. And the best part is you've made it past your first step, which is always the biggest and most difficult to climb. Now, the steps that follow will be much easier to take.
