LG is aware that touchscreens are mobile phone standards of tomorrow. However, a lot of people are still not comfortable with the technology and still require the comforts of the handy alphanumeric keypad. So LG made a compromise by launching the KF700. It is compared with Samsung's F700 for its dual touchscreen and keypad functions and with the iPhone with its similar interface. But the technology advances because of people who take the best out of what technology offers and apply them accordingly.
The LG KF700 is the marriage of these technologies. It uses user-friendly interface that makes menu access easy. The icons are arranged on the screen and they are activated via haptic technology allowing for only the gentlest finger swipe. Icons are arranged below the sub menus and widgets are strategically placed for easy access. You can do this by simply sliding from the right of the pane.
Design is also paramount. The navigation system is conveniently placed on the left side, as well as the OK button. The camera and locking system is found on the right side. As a slider, you can open the KF700 to reveal an alphanumeric keypad, perfect for text messaging as well typing short emails. LG has smartly opted for a more functional keypad rather than a full-blown QWERTY keyboard.
The camera is also functional in its 3 megapixel simplicity, autofocus and a LED flash. It's nothing fancy but it fits well with the design. It has an HSDPA and EDGE capabilities, the latter running up to 7.2 mbps. Surfing is a breeze with the KF700 which supports WAP and HTML web browsers. The user can use tabbed browsing, permitting several web pages to be viewed successively enjoying access to Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail and even YouTube.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth and USB 2.0 to be easily attached to your PC or laptop. The LG KF700 is truly one hybrid mobile phone to watch out for.
