Best Options For Extending Business Stays

If one is traveling for business and has to stay for an extended period of time it might be more cost effective to look for a rental. Especially if one is residing in a very expensive hotel. The room may be just what the guest may have needed at the time but it may be more comfortable if one moves to a place where he can concentrate on his business and not worry about the cost of the hotel rising by the day.

Occasionally, there might be a reason that makes sense for the traveler to stay over a couple of extra nights. Sometimes, to seal the deal it requires a little bit of extra time and some more documentation to back up what needs to be accomplished. There are also situations when something goes horribly wrong and it makes perfect sense to stay until the job gets done correctly.

Generally the firm would look into further options for the guest. This would be accomplished by one of two ways. Sometimes there will an Assistant who could help the individual book all of his travel and extend his stay on his behalf. The other choice would be to contact the Travel Agent who booked his travel plans.

The Agent will be more than happy to assist the traveler. A reservationist will have her own contacts and will need to know just about how much longer the guest will be staying. The Assistant will be needing the same information but will use her travel methods to assist the traveler. Either way will get this accomplished.

One option would be Corporate Housing. This would be a very nice way to extend a person's stay as this is part of the company's negotiated pricing and contracts will already have been put in place. Pricing will be much cheaper than if one has to extend his time in the current hotel. The flexibilities will also change as in most normal Corporate Housing situations, there is a much more at home feel.

The second option might be a Short Term Rental. Sometimes this is the cheaper rate and this will vary depending on who will do the booking. A Travel Agent can always assist but for a price. Whereas, if there is an available assistant to help this would be the preferred way. The assistant can use her contacts and search out possibly a bed and breakfast or another piece of property that will specialize in extended stays and short term properties.

The third option could be a Furnished Apartment or a Condo. These types of rentals are just as attractive and can give a feeling of a home away from home. These properties generally come with a kitchen and completely furnished with furniture.

The fourth choice would be to extend your current hotel accommodations for a reduced rate. If a company has negotiated in it's contract early on, there might have been a clause for a reduced rate for an extended stay in the hotel room. Many hotels are accustomed to an extra couple of days but any more than a week becomes an issue and must be re-negotiated.
