Remember To Take A Break And Smell The Grass Along The Way

The whole day yesterday, was a truly strange day. I was working throughout the wee hours of the morning. I am beginning to enjoy blogging so much that I want to know as much about it as I can.

The next thing I knew, it was already 7.00am. The truth is I have not been getting enough sleep for the last one month. I have been totally engrossed with the blog that I lose myself exploring further, and also at the same time committed to posting my almost daily thoughts. As I am at the teething stage of blogging, at times I make blunders and my posting goes sort of lost! I end up re-doing them.

However, as I shutdown my faithful Toshiba Satellite A-100 Notebook that I purchased recently, I had a mild headache and my body did not feel good. This normally happens to me ONLY when I work non-stop without any rest. My recent conversation with, my friend John a few days ago popped into my mind. Maybe, I really should take things easy a bit.

However, I could not sleep as my mind was very much entangled in the blogs world. My wife was out for her appointments at about 9.00am. I just rested, caught up with the recent news on television, my investments in the stock market and I watched plenty of cartoons. I laughed heartily! It has been a while since I took joy in watching the simple down-to-earth cartoons. As I laughed, I felt slightly better. Then, I switched my mobile phone to "Silent" mode and went to sleep at about 2.00pm.

I awoke to my wife's voice as she came in to check on me whether I was okay. She was worried because she could not reach me on my mobile phone. Looking at her, in that one startling moment, I realized that I truly missed spending quality time with her. Sometimes we are too engrossed in our work that we do not realize the trivial intimate things we are missing.

I decided to spend some time with her once I feel better. I told her I was under the weather a little, smiled at her and went back to sleep thanking Nature for reminding me of the IMPORTANT things in my life, by slowing me down as and when needed.

Yes, I am talking about the cartoons, and of course spending some quality time with my beloved wife!
