What is a squeeze page, and how can it work for you? When I first heard the term, I didn't know a squeeze page from a squeeze play. Actually I had it confused with a landing page, something entirely different.

Essentially, what a squeeze page is, is a page you create for the sole purpose of:

pre-selling a product you are marketing,

getting the visitor to subscribe to your list.

When a visitor (subscriber) opts in to your squeeze page she only has two options. 1) Provide you with the requested information. 2) Get rid of you like an unwanted tumor.

Now your first thought may be, why would you want to limit the number of visitors coming to your site? Well, for one thing you eliminate the curious who might not be interested in what you have to offer (your product) in the first place. Second, and most important, the people who do choose to opt in are interested in finding out more about your offer. This can provide you with a strong subscriber who will remain loyal.

There are four essential steps to setting up a squeeze page:

Headline Write a snappy headline that will get your visitors attention. Make him curious enough to want to know more.

Sub Headline The sub headline complements the headline, while adding a little more information.

Benefits List your benefits with bullet points. Let them know what the product will do for them. Make sure you emphasize benefits and not features.

Subscription Form This is the form you will place underneath your content asking for a name and email address.

A squeeze page is an extremely valuable way of collecting names and email addresses for a subscribers list. It is possible to capture up to 50% of viewers. Of course this kind of rate will depend a great deal upon the effectiveness of your squeeze page content.
