In 2007 there are quite a large number of therapies for stuttering. Things have moved on some what from just a decade ago when the only real form of treatment seemed to be the traditional speech and language therapy. In this article I am going to be writing about some of the latest stuttering therapies that are now available.

Firstly let me introduce myself, I am Stephen Hill and I know all about the trials and tribulations that accompany living life with a stuttering problem. I developed a stutter or what my parents called a stammer when I was around three to four years of age. This most frustrating speech impediment would continue to ruin my life for the next eighteen years before I finally managed to break free from its clutches at the age of twenty-two.

My parents did take me to see at least three different speech therapists. I have to say that my attitude was not what it should have been mainly because not one of them had the belief that they could cure me from this stuttering curse.

Nowadays people who stutter are able to attend one-to-one and group speech courses, some of which are run by people who have overcome a stutter themselves.

There are also audiobooks and dvd's which include full descriptions of various techniques that, with practice and hard work, can enable the person who has the stutter to achieve fluency.

So where do people find these stuttering therapies? Well the answer to that question is quite simple. The world wide web has suddenly made the world seem like a much smaller place and just by searching on google.com for search terms such as stuttering therapy, stuttering therapies or stuttering treatments, will provide information about a number of the above options at a click of a mouse.
