How to Turn the Anxiety Switch in Your Head OFF

Your teeth clinch, your palms begin to sweat, and you start feeling like there's nothing in the world that could possibly calm you down, are you dying? No, you are experiencing a condition that an estimated 20 million people suffer from every day. The terrible feeling overtaking your body is, you guessed it, ANXIETY. This experience can be one of the worst feelings of your life but there is a solution to this seemingly never ending terror. Here are some things that you can do once you start to slip into an anxious state.

-Exercise-

Even if you're the laziest person in the world it will really help if you incorporate a daily or at least bi-weekly workout routine into your daily plans. This will surely help settle your emotions and really help right after you experience an anxious instance.

-Stay Healthy, that means minimal booze!-

I'm very sorry to have to do this to you but alcohol has been proven to increase anxiety in case studies done at accredited universities in the United States. If you have to drink just keep it to a minimum and try not to get yourself in stressful situations. Also smoking cigarettes might seem like a stress reliever, but the nicotine will only bring more anxious moments into your life.

--Take Deep Breaths-

This may be the simplest but most productive method that will really help. Taking deep breaths after and during stressful situations can increase your feelings of security. This will not only help calm you down but it may also help settle anxiety brought on headaches.

-Medicine-

This can be the most expensive way to cure your anxiety. This is a last resort and you will have to get a Dr. to prescribe you medication. There are tons of cheaper and more effective ways to calm your anxiety then getting hooked on drugs, for instance check below.
