Indianapolis Colts Unstoppable

What made this game so interesting to watch, was the fact that the Pittsburgh Steelers are the type of team that scores big time on the 1st quarter, keeps it simple and safe on 2nd and 3rd, but comes back to settle the scores on the 4th.

I was putting my expectations on Pittsburgh, as that terrible interception just 3 minutes before conclusion left a bitter taste on the Colts front line and there was the fact as well that Indianapolis has been struggling 40 years in Steelers ground, so the stat favored my decision. As I learned from this game, the game is not over until the last second.

Colts quarterback Peyton Manning gave Roethlisberger a good reason to say "not over till the fat lady sings" when at the end, the coin tossed in favor of the Colts. The 240 yards Manning threw during game time, proved once more, that even a strong and wall-built team such as the Steelers is vulnerable to fall down under pressure. And what can we say about Manning, who in the past 3 games has achieved two TD passes-in on each; and although, many fans feel uncomfortable with Manning's full-of-surprises style, this time it worked perfectly.

The strange situation here is the fact, that it's becoming a Mannings tend to break the Steelers faith when they play in Pittsburgh; Eli did it last October the 26th at the end of the 4th, with a final score of 21-14 Giants favored and of course Peyton this past Sunday.

Everybody knew the game was over for the Steelers when reaching the end of the last quarter, those last seconds were telling a story for the team. In extreme anxiety Roethlisberger's threw into the end zone sightless and was crushed by the defense; a very bad move because that interception went straight to Melvin Bullitts' hands. The interception not only outplayed Roethlisberger to loose the game for his team, but it was his 3rd interception of the game... not looking to sweet for Roethlisberger at the moment, especially with the first two interceptions, which cost the squad 14 points in total.

Roethlisberger has 8 interceptions in 8 weeks, which in fact is not a bad stat for a QB, but making those errors during the final minutes of game time is definitely unforgivable.

Let's look at some history and stats for a moment; in Pittsburgh the Colts are 2-12, making the last win for Indy back in 1968 and the first time after 12 attempts this 2008. The good news for the Steelers is that in the AFC this 2008, they are 5-1 on the board.

Now, the Manning-led team is happy and the Steelers are at practice reviewing the game video over and over again, perhaps wondering how come the 40 year nightmare could finally end for the Colts.
