If you are seriously thinking about purchasing a property or properties in Cyprus, you have no doubt done extensive research into the island and the benefits that come along with purchasing real estate on the island. You likely already understand all that you stand to gain by purchasing a holiday or rental property on Cyprus. Maybe you have even fallen in love with the island and plan on making a permanent move. Regardless of how you made the decision, you have decided to purchase Cyprus property. Now, all that's left to decide is exactly where on the island you want to buy property.

There are many factors that may affect where you want to purchase property on Cyprus. Cyprus is contrasting in nature and has many different regions to choose from. If you want to purchase a property that you can rent out to families on holiday, you will likely want to choose a region that attracts a lot of tourists. If you wish to settle on Cyprus with your family, on the other hand, you may want to be closer to towns, cities and the rich culture and history that is unique to the island. The following are just a few of the distinct features that can be found on Cyprus:

• Beaches - Cyprus is an island and as thus has plenty of waterside locations to choose from. The beaches of Cyprus are extremely popular among tourists. In fact, most of the holiday homes on Cyprus can be found within a short distance of the shoreline.

• Mountains - The mountain region is another popular tourist destination. Here visitors can ski and hike in the rugged mountain terrain. Nature and wildlife abounds which attracts yet more to the interior of the island. Buying mountain property in Cyprus is also ideal if you want to invest in a holiday property.

• Mediterranean Towns and Cities - Culture, shopping and nightlife abound in the cities and towns of Cyprus. While these areas do not attract as many long-staying visitors as the beaches and mountains of Cyprus, there is a need for short-stay accommodations. These areas are ideal for inns and bed and breakfast establishments.

• Historical Sections - The same is true of areas around historical attractions. History stretches back 10,000 years on the island. During this time the island was under the control of many cultures such as the Ottoman Turks, the British, Greeks and Romans.

Again, the area that you choose to buy Cyprus property will depend primarily on how you wish to use the property. If you plan to purchase a holiday property, you might want to purchase it in an area that you would enjoy visiting as you will have free access to the home when it is not in use.

If you wish to purchase a property and hold onto it until the value rises, you might want to purchase property in one of the expanding cities in Cyprus as residences are in high demand in these areas.
