Britney Goes Bald

Hollywood stardom has taken its toll on Britney Spears. Being popular at a young age, achieving success early in life and then going through several traumatic experiences can truly be damaging to one's personality.

Poor lady, she has been harshly criticized by the public around the world since tying the knot in Las Vegas that lasted for only 55 hours and marrying a second time, this time with her back-up dancer Kevin Federline. Unfortunately, her second marriage that bore two kids also ended in divorce after only two years. Recently, Britney has also been ridiculed for partying too often than usual in skimpy attires.

And just recently, two days after Valentine's day, Britney all the more surprised concerned fans and non-fans alike when she decided to go bald and had her back and wrist tattooed. In fact, she shaved her head all by herself after not one of the staff at Esther's Haircutting Studio in San Fernando Valley wanted to do it. Spears got an electric shaver and just rid her head of all the hair. After the incident, the salon owner set up a website to sell the 25-year-old Hollywood star's hair and other stuff for a whopping one million dollars. The lucky person who can give the highest bid will get the dark, knotty hair extensions, the clipper she used to shave her head, the Red Bull she drank at the salon and her cigarette lighter.

Following her very unusual behavior, Britney entered a rehab facility as confirmed by her manager Larry Rudolph. Spears volunteered to check into a rehab center in Los Angeles, an act many people see as finally giving in to the advice of family members and other people closest to her. Entertainment television shows and websites also disclosed that the young celebrity had been going in and out of rehab last week.

Britney's outrageous behavior shown in public lately has led millions of fans to be more concerned of their idol. Psychiatrist Gail Saltz of New York said it's possible that Spears could be experiencing postpartum depression and her divorce is an added burden. "It's really tough for celebrities…they have no idea if anybody likes them for being themselves. Everybody wants a piece," Saltz added.

On the other hand, magazine editor Ian Drew described Spears as "a child star unraveling and is the perfect example of when a child star becomes an adult and does not get positive advices and the right support." Starting out very young in a very competitive business truly has its drawbacks.

As to her children, the attorney of her ex-husband earlier said that both Britney and Kevin will share the custody of their one-year-old son Sean Preston and five-month-old Jayden James. The estranged couple reached a custody agreement last January with Federline saying that he loves his kids and will always be there for them.

Britney's fans around the world wish the Hollywood star the best as she tries to correct whatever needs to be corrected in her life while inside the rehab center. It is the hope of many entertainment fans that she comes out with a better attitude and outlook in life and to return soon to singing and dancing while at the same time tackling the role of motherhood to her two kids.
