There are many factors that have to be taken into account when starting out in the small business world; perhaps the most important is having a qualified accountant behind you. However now there is another person which can play just as an important role in the success of your business, a business mentor.
Business mentoring is considered essential and for good reason and there are many of them. If you go into business on your own then one of the biggest downfalls is the fact that you can seem entirely alone, when it comes to making important decisions that will affect the future of your business then this loneliness can seem tenfold. This feeling of loneliness is perhaps the biggest pitfall to running your own small business, however it needn't be. Having a business mentor on your side you will find that your overall confidence in yourself, your goals for your business and the business itself improves drastically.
Although the business mentor is just a guide, knowing that there is someone you can let your thoughts, feelings and worries out to is a blessing. There is a vast amount of information out there online, but you could do no better than to visit a relatively new website which aims to bring people together and make them realise they are not alone and don't have to go it totally alone.
A business mentor can be seen as someone who provides an ear for listening to your ideas about essential business plans, your goals for the future of your business and help you to stick to those goals or prepare them.
They are also able to give you sound expert advice from their own past experiences, as all mentors will have had success in their own small business and will be able to pass their success strategies onto you. Above all they are there for you and this is the most essential point, just knowing that you don't have to go it totally alone and there is someone who you can get valuable support and advice from when needed is pure delight.
