Integrate The Power Of Visualization On Your Computer

Put what you want in front of your eyes every day using your computer's desktop.

This is a process of affirmations through visualizing that I came up with on my own. It all started with Photoshop about five years ago. I would take a few pictures with my camera and blend them together to create a vision board of what I wanted to see happen in my life.

Problem is I was making a fancy desktop that had pictures from my past. I was focusing on my past instead of what I wanted for the future. This is not recommended. The past is dead; on the other hand the future has the power to manifest itself and have a bigger impact in your life.

So I changed the perspective that I was taking my pictures from.

One of my best desktops was created when I was halfway through McGill University. I was working toward getting my Chartered Accountancy certificate, living in Ontario and having four kids, a wife and a mansion. I made a desktop of this and kept it in front of my eyes every time I opened my computer in the morning.

This practice of constantly affirming what I wanted to see in my life kept it fresh in my mind as I went about my day (school, work, people I met with, etc). It would make me more aware of banners for C.A. information sessions and opportunities to network with people representing companies in Toronto. I also felt like more of a professional and much more goals oriented.

Another one of my best desktops was my "4-Hour-Work-Week" which I created this summer shortly after I read Timothy Ferriss' 4-Hour Work Week which was a tremendous inspiration.

If you click "Desktops" on the right panel on my site you will see this one. I have pictured my dream house, my workout bench (bottom of photo in red) as well as a script in the middle specifically outlining how I want to work and define myself.

By the way, a "4 hour work week" does not imply I never want to work ever again. I get a lot of satisfaction out of working. It implies that I only want to do what I love. Anything that falls short of me absolutely loving, I want to cut out of my weekly activities. Work would then consist of 4 hours each week since everything else I do could not be considered painful.

If you don't have Photoshop you can use paint or the equivalent program that Macs use. Photoshop has worked best for me over the years especially with the fade in/out feature by adding a layer mask.

Affirmations don't have to be mumbled millions of times every day to the point they become unpleasant and boring. They should be natural and come easy to you. You should also believe them.
