Millions of Americans are overweight and struggling to lose it. Everyone would like to find that magic pill that they can take one night and wake up the next morning in perfect physical condition but let's face it that just doesn't exist so this article is going to discuss the best way to reduce body fat.

One of the best things you can do to reduce body fat and turn your body into a fat burning furnace is to increase your metabolism. When you increase your metabolism, you burn more calories plain and simple. You burn more calories and fat all day long when you have a higher metabolism. A great way to increase your metabolism is to exercise. That doesn't mean that you have to join a gym and work out for two hours a day it just means you need to be a little more physically active. Instead of the elevator, take the stairs once in awhile. Go for a walk at a brisk pace on your lunch hour. Park a little further away from the front door so you have to walk a bit more. The more exercise you get the better but every little bit helps.

Another way to increase your metabolism that doesn't involve physical exertion is to eat more. What you say, eat more? I don't mean eat larger meals, what I mean is to eat smaller meals but eat them more often. Eating five small meals a day will rev up your metabolism and is much better for you than eating two or three large meals per day.

Another thing that makes it easier to lose weight and reduce body fat is to have other people help you. If you have a friend that likes to go for a walk with you or a bike ride or participate in some type of physical activity or workout routine, you can help each other and encourage each other to stick with it. So many people start working out for a week or two and then quit. When you have a workout partner you motivate each other and you'll both achieve better results. Another option is to have a competitor rather than a partner. If a friend or coworker you know wants to lose weight also you can agree to a little contest to lose a certain amount of weight in a certain time period. If you are a competitive person, the desire to win may help you stick to what ever diet and exercise program you've decided to start.
