CCNA certification is tough enough without you making it tough on yourself. There are a few simple things you can do that will increase your exam day performance greatly. Let's take a look at these simple yet powerful techniques.
First, get plenty of sleep the night before. I've taken certification exams from the CCNA to the CCIE, and I'm always amazed at the number of bleary-eyed test takers that show up at the testing center looking like they're about to fall asleep. Don't cram the night before - if you don't know it by 10 PM the night before the exam, you just don't know it. In the words of Dave Attell, "Get some sleep!"
Get to the testing center on time. It's one of the most important appointments you'll ever make, so get there on time. Many testing centers give so many different kinds of tests that they're often filled to capacity. If you get there late, you may not be allowed to test that day.
Finally, get a proper warm-up in the testing room before you start the exam. No, I don't mean that you have to do pushups in the testing center - I mean that you should take the example questions before you take the actual exam. Before you start the CCNA exam, you'll be asked if you want to take a tutorial showing you how to answer the various types of questions. I know that you know how to answer a multiple choice or "radio button" question type, but taking a few minutes to take the exam tutorial will help you loosen up, catch your breath, and also allow you to notice any problems with the mouse or computer speed before you take the real exam. The clock does not run during the tutorial, so that's the best time to find out about any hardware issues.
Just doing these few simple things before your exam will help you get the result you want after the exam - the magic letters "CCNA" behind your name. Get started today, and don't forget to get some sleep!
