Ditch the Weight.. Five Pounds at a Time
You have been trying so hard to ditch the weight, giving up those goodies, running up and down the stairs, and when you get on that scale after a few weeks of all this hard work, you only see five pounds gone.
For some people that would be a yippee! if they only needed to lose that last five pounds, but for many of us trying to shed the weight, it can be a real struggle.
But look at those five pounds in a different way, and you may be convinced to NOT give in to that bucket of chicken or that tub of ice cream you swear has your name on it!
Next time you are in the grocery store, go over to the meat section, and pick up a five pound roast. Hold it in both hands, and hold it out from you... doesn't that feel heavy?.. That is what you lost off of your body. It is amazing how heavy five pounds can feel when you are lugging it around right? That is five pounds less that your body has to store or carry around.
Now just imagine, if you keep up that good work, and you lose ten pounds.. now walk yourself over to that ten pound bag of potatoes, and carry that around for awhile. You are doing your body a great favor. Doesn't that ten pounds feel heavy in your arms after awhile?
Just think you were carrying that around naturally all over your body.
So the next time you think.. great, I only lost five pounds.. you will realize that you still did your body a favor. Break it down into small goals. Ditch the weight in five pound segments, and reward yourself after each five pounds with something NON food related, like a movie, manicure, or whatever..
Losing weight can be very difficult, it requires you to change your ways of eating, but it also means you have to give yourself a pat on the back at each step, and shedding 5 pounds is not just something to sneeze at. Just think of those five pound roasts piling up!
