Excessive perspiration is one of the most common problems faced by millions. This disorder is often overlooked by many but the realization dawns after some disappointing or bitter experience. Excessive perspiration can land you in a situation of social embarrassment; it can even negate your chances during an interview. Embarrassing moments as these cannot be shrugged off with an attitude of indifference as it can make the individual an object of ridicule.

The condition of abnormally increased perspiration, in contrast to what is required for regulation of body temperature, is known as Hyperhidrosis, with the hands, armpits, face, feet as the commonly affected areas. The cause for excessive sweating in general is dubious. Sympathetic nervous system, certain food and drinks, nervousness or emotional state are believed to be some of the common medium triggering abnormal perspiration.

Hyperhidrosis does not have a permanent cure. This disorder can be controlled effectively through surgical treatment or certain medications. Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy or ETS, sweat gland suction, Iontophoresis, Percutaneous Sympathectomy, and Acupuncture are some of the common surgical treatments for the control of Hyperhidrosis. However, all these operations have proved themselves ineffective at one point of time or other. For instance, the procedure of Iontophoresis has produced contrary effects on a number of people even after going through a series of painful operations.

Such unsuccessful instances have deterred quite a number of affected people to undergo surgical treatment. In comparison to these methods, the use of type A Botulinium toxin is advisable. Produced by the Clostridium bacteria, this toxin is injected to cure the problem of excessive sweating. Botox works wonders to control excess sweat by disabling the sweat glands. The drug is directly injected into epidermis thus blocking the stimuli from the sympathetic nerves.

Botox works effectively at the areas of injection. For instance, botox injection is given at twenty areas in the armpits. The underarm sweat control treatment via botox has even been approved by US Food & Drug Administration (FDA). The frequency of botox injection varies between 4 to 9 months, depending on the areas injected.

Botox Hyperhidrosis treatment is a bit expensive but provides the most effective solution for abnormal perspiration. The government has now come up with certain schemes to help suitable candidates avail botox treatment. However, patients also need to keep track of the side effects that might result from botox medication. Oral consumption of this drug is not recommended as it may cause dryness of the mouth and blurring of vision. Nevertheless, in comparison to other forms of treatment, botox injection is the most viable option for curing excessive perspiration, especially of the underarms.
