Nokia's Christmas List - What Mobile Phones Will be in Your Stocking This Year?
As we get ever nearer to Christmas (well, it's October, it's only 2 months away), it's time to see what mobile phones will be big in the festive season. With Nokia, there are two obvious choices: the Nokia N96 and the Nokia 5800 Xpress.
Nokia N96 - the multimedia monster
Finnish manufacturer Nokia have been developing two of the most highly anticipated mobile phones of 2008. First up is the super-high-powered, Nseries monster, the Nokia N96. And what a phone it is, too, with 5 megapixel camera, GPS, HSDPA internet access. Not only that, but the Nokia N96 is a gorgeous looking mobile phone, clad in a sexy, sleek body that's a million miles away from its predecessor, the Nokia N95. Heck, it even has a kickstand on the back, to stand itself upright.
Why, you may ask, is that necessary?
Well, you see the main facet of the Nokia N96's life is its multimedia. Basically, it's not unfair to say that this is the portable cinema of the mobile phone world. It's multimedia playback is second to none, and with mobile TV support, you get loads of cool multimedia out of the Nokia N96. That's not all, though, because it's also one of the first ever mobile phones to come with BBC iPlayer. All of that is why this is going to be one of THE big success stories of 2008.
Nokia 5800 Xpress - the touchy-feely mobile phone
However, just as anticipated as the Nokia N96 is another mobile phone... and this one is in a league of its own, as its Nokia's first mainstream touchscreen phone ever. It's the amazing Nokia 5800 Xpress.
It's blatantly obvious what's going to make the Nokia 5800 Xpress a big seller: that huge touchscreen. It's the first of a new breed of mobile phones, based on a brand new, touch-based version of Symbian, too, so it's no wonder everyone's going on about it! The Nokia 5800 Xpress really is a great little mobile phone, with 3 megapixel camera, HSDPA and GPS. However, where the Nokia N96 is focused on multimedia and video, the Nokia 5800 Xpress is focused on music, and lots of it, which is why it's been made to sit within the XpressMusic family of mobile phones. Between the Nokia 5800 Xpress and the Nokia N96, it seems clear that Nokia are in for a VERY good Christmas!
