House Training a Yorkshire Terrier- 4 Simple Tips
House training a Yorkshire Terrier can be frustrating. Especially when your dog won't listen to your commands. So, what I'm going to do is share with you some tips on house training a Yorkshire Terrier. That way, you can easily train your Yorkie to do whatever you want it to do.
The tips on house training a Yorkshire Terrier are:
1. Minimize Distractions. When training your Yorkie, be sure to minimize the distractions. There shouldn't be too many people or animals around your dog, while your teaching it something. Yorkshire Terriers get distracted easily.
2. Use Treats. Whenever your Yorkie does something that you wanted it to do, be sure to reward it with a treat. You don't have to give a treat every time. Yorkshire Terriers love to eat treats. This will help encourage good behavior.
3. Praise Good Behavior. During the times you don't give a treat for good behavior, be sure to praise your dog. Let them know that they have done a great job. Yorkies love to be praised.
4. Punish Bad Behavior. Whenever your dog has done something wrong, you can spank your dog. I don't mean spank them hard. Just a soft tap. The point isn't to hurt your dog. You want your dog to understand that you won't tolerate their bad behavior.
These are some tips on house training a Yorkshire Terrier. If you really want to train your Yorkie, be sure to use these tips. It may take you a while to train your dog, unless you use proven training techniques to train your dog.
