Where are We Heading for our Holidays This Year?
Many people looking to book holidays often leave it late in order to try and catch some last minute deals. In fact, it is estimated that 12 million people had booked their summer holidays by the end of February. Each family has their own criteria to what makes the perfect holiday and here are the top 5 destinations they chose.
Orlando, Florida was amongst the favourites and is ideal for families with young children as there is so much to do including visiting Mickey Mouse and friends at Walt Disney World. As well as the theme parks there are many other attractions such as cruises, great nightlife and entertainment, unique shopping centres and fantastic restaurants. There is something for everyone in Orlando and coupled with the fantastic weather, that you can almost guarantee, makes for a wonderful holiday.
Maybe you are looking for cheap holidays, if so Orlando may be a little bit out of your price range but do not worry because you are not alone. Many others have decided to that a European holiday is the one for them and is why the remaining 4 destinations are European. In fact we can narrow it down even further as the remaining 4 are based in Spain.
The first Spanish based destination is Tenerife which has long been a favourite amongst British tourists. Some tourists refer to it as Paradise Island because of its white beaches where you can relax and forget about the stress and strains of life. Tourists like to spend their holidays on the resorts of Los Christianos and Playa de las Americas.
The second destination is Majorca (home of the winner of the men's Wimbledon tennis title Rafael Nadal). As the largest island of the Balearics, Majorca attracts millions of tourists each year and is great for people looking for some culture as the city is drenched in history. You can combine the entertainment, nightlife and festivals with the museums and cathedrals to make the perfect holiday.
The other two destinations are Lanzarote and Gran Canaria. Both are fantastic destinations where tourists are urged to consider all inclusive holidays to minimise expenditure once you arrive. You will find a great atmosphere and plenty to do in both cities including surfing, diving and climbing.
Finding great deals on holidays is easy if you shop online and compare the various operators. If you are looking for cheap holidays then stay in Europe where you can take advantage of the low cost airlines. Also to minimize your costs, consider all inclusive holidays .
