Outlining the advantages of distance learning, it can be stated that such educational method can be seen as a suitable option for foreign students. If the accreditation issues are resolved by students, confirming that the diplomas granted by distance learning are accepted in students' native countries, such method will save students a large amount of money. Additionally, students will not have to pay travel and living expenses in another country. Nevertheless, there are many factors that foreign students should consider. This article will attempt to outline the factors that should be considered by foreign students before applying for distance education in their native countries.

Communication Infrastructure

One of the main factors to consider by a student before applying for distance learning in another country is the fulfillment of communication and technological requirements. The communication requirement can be seen in such factors as the availability of internet, the bandwidth used, the traffic allowed, and the price for such traffic. In many developing countries internet is not developed enough for distance learning. Additionally, the price of internet traffic in such countries might exceed the expectations of potential students, considering the amount of educational materials that should be streamed or downloaded.

Accredited Centers

In case the communication infrastructure does not allow distance learning to be performed individually, students might consider other options. Many distance learning schools have representatives in other countries. Representation, in that regard, implies centers which are fully equipped to correspond to the technical requirement of most distance learning schools and programs. Although looking for accredited certification centers might reduce the options available for foreign students, it can be stated that usually the schools that have representative centers in other countries are among the most popular and respected in the world.
