This is a profiling on acne and focuses primarily on the prevention aspects and lesser known facts which could well explode a few myths!

Adolescents to adults - acne spares none - for if statistics are to be believed - adolescents who contact acne during fourteen to twenty four years of age - may well go into their forties and fifties with the affection!

The order of the day then is - how to prevent acne - the fact that Acne has both internal and external causative factors further reiterates the fact that prevention of acne needs to be accorded far greater emphasis.

Acne Prevention Protocol

The most commonly adopted counters for prevention of acne could well be some or more of these:

- Pricking

Blemishes or pimples inevitably translate into acne scar when squeezed or punctured - the order of the day being to ensure that pimples are never squeezed for it would only further aggravate the condition.

- Linen

Hygiene being of paramount importance - it is critical that the pillow cases and towels are always maintained in the most hygienic of conditions and laundered regularly for as is evident, bacteria would be harbored by soiled linen which would accelerate or sustain the onset of acne at any point in time.

- Sweat Equations

Workouts are the gateway to a healthy and quality driven way of life - nevertheless the sweat could well be damaging and the more discerning of the masses would inevitably ensure that a prompt shower is taken immediately after a workout - considering that sweat and oil from the glands would inevitably block the pores and hence - acne!

- Cosmetics

Cosmetics and accessories would well need to be used in prime condition - considering that contaminated or much used cosmetic brushes could well be the trigger for a full blown outbreak of acne.

- Medicating

The personal concept of medicating is seldom advocated - the exception being vanishing creams which when applied regularly would more than ensure that the pores are not blocked - for it is evident that the mechanics of acne so dictate that blocking of pores is inevitably followed by the formation of blemishes - the lead time being a mere three weeks!

- Fitness Syndrome

Sweat could well be harmful and a trigger for early onset of acne - conversely fitness and regular exercise are known to promote a healthy skin texture and increased blood circulation to the skin - which only further reiterates the fact that acne is highly preventable all it requires is adopting a disciplined approached per se!

Concurrent detoxification of the body could well be a critical factor to acne prevention - more so when coupled with exercising. The phenomenon of detoxification is best achieved by ingesting large quantities of water daily.

- Products

The market is replete with a plethora of products which would well stake claim to preventing acne the natural way - the diverse range of products available are but testimony to the fact that not all could be effective in preventing acne per se.

It could well be reiterated that while acne is a universal phenomenon which knows no barriers - be it age or sex - the indisputable fact is that it is a highly preventable malady - all it requires is a multidisciplinary approach and the commitment to sustain!
