Satellite TV Creating a Better World

Just about all businesses and enterprises have some sort of impact on the planet that we live on, to one degree or another and some more than others have an impact on the communities that we live in also. They can impact the planet biologically, or it can be more of an impact on the social demographics, but they all will touch our lives in one way or another.

Media broadcasters are not exempt from this rule and they too have an impact on our communities and lives and the very planet that we live on and some have a more positive impact than others.

The visionaries who dreamed up the concept of satellite TV programming all grew up in an age were social consciousness was at the for front of business priorities and they dreamed of a programming service that would leave a lasting positive impression in the communities that they did business in.

Satellite TV has, more than any other programming service, worked to make the world a little smaller and bring the people who inhabit the planet more close together and helped them to get to know one another a little better. Now through satellite TV programming, people of all cultures and religions in other countries and continents are getting to know one another and only good can come from that.

When cable service providers arrived on the scene they knew that they had a captive clientele and the communities they set up shop in were ripe to be taken advantage of. They set to work to optimize on any and all opportunities that they found and we are still dealing with their wreckage to this very day.

They took full advantage of public utility easement access rights to tear up and down every street in America and never bothered to tell anyone that their service was going to be rendered obsolete in a few decades when the first TV broadcasting satellite was launched into orbit.

Time and again people across America opened their morning news papers to read of another political corruption scandal that was created by socially irresponsible cable companies that prostituted the democratic process, by bribing duly elected public officials in their quest for control of service areas.

Far too many home owners came home from work to find a big unsightly green cable junction box stuck right in the middle of their lawn and were told that they would face criminal charges if they even touched it.

It's important that we not forget these things less that they may happen again. DirecTV and Dish Network have always stepped with a light foot, when they entered communities to provide their services for people across America.

If we are going to expect business to behave correctly when they do business in our communities then the ones that do should receive our business and the ones that don't should be shunned.

Before you sign up with a service provider give some thought to what they have done to, or for your community as a whole, before you indorse them by giving them your business.
