Nowadays, a lot more brides are enjoying the fun and excitement of a wedding shower. The responsibility for organizing this even usually falls on their close friends or maid of honor. If you've never planned a wedding shower before, it can all seem a bit daunting. It's not always easy to know whether the wedding shower should be casual and informal, or whether you should plan something fancy and elaborate. It's important to know how much money is available to pay for the shower, so that you don't get carried away and blow the budget entirely.

There are some basic questions to ask that will help you to get a much better idea of what sort of wedding shower you need to organize. These questions will help you get your mind to work, brainstorming ideas and possibilities, until you end up with the perfect wedding shower.

- How many people need to be invited? Just friends, or friends and family?
- When is a good date to have the shower?
- Do you know of any venues that can accommodate the right number of people at a reasonable price?
- What food will be provided - a full sit down meal or just some appetizers?
- Can you email invitations or print them yourself, or do they need to be handwritten?
- Who else can help you organize the shower?
- Do the bride and groom know about the shower, or is it a surprise?

Working out the answer to these questions will at least get you started on your wedding shower plans. The important thing is that you want to do your best to celebrate two special people in your life, without it costing a fortune. If you need help, then ask for it. The last thing you need is to be running yourself ragged, when chances are there are other friends who would love to give you a hand.
