3) Make sure your expectations are realistic. We've all seen business opportunity advertisements that claim some average idiot with no business experience whatsoever struck it rich as a home based business entrepreneur in just a minimal amount of time. What the ad doesn't tell you was that there were probably months and months of preparation, planning, and learning that the idiot did before he put his plan into action. That being said, you can't expect to profit overnight if you don't have much experience working and owning a business, if any. Take your goals step by step as you gain more experience.

4) Don't expect your journey as a home based business entrepreneur to be a smooth ride with no trouble. By Murphy's Law, something is bound to go wrong at some point or another. You may make a tiny, honest mistake that ends up costing you dearly. Or perhaps something goes wrong in the functions of your business. 5) Know exactly who your target market is. They will be the people who your business will thrive and prosper from, if you can get your business to appeal to them. You will need to know what these people think, what they do, and what kind of lives they live, if you want the best results. For example, if you're marketing nutritional products, the worst kind of mindset you can get into is thinking that 'everyone needs those kind of products'. Since when is 'everyone' a trustworthy source? You want people who are already interested and looking for what your business provides, like athletes, body builders and people who want to make their life healthier. Get my drift?
