Super Charge Your Child With Pull Along Toys

Children today are spoiled for choice when it comes to toys. For every age group there are many toys, some educational, others just for recreation. But the more traditional toy is making a comeback even in this 'super' age of technology and computer games. Baby toys tend to be the cute and cuddly soft toy variety but as the child develops and starts to take those first tentative steps, albeit on legs still a bit wobbly, the push-along variety comes to the fore.

When this art has been mastered, and walking is now steadier, the pull-along toy becomes one of the firm and favourite choices of gift for the child. These purely traditional toys have been around for a long time. Today's pull along toys come in many forms all set to delight and engage the toddler in animated play. Take for instance the 'spotty dog'. A beautiful Dalmatian style puppy dog on wheels whose ears and tail flap up and down as the toy is pulled along. This totally captures the child's attention whilst encouraging the child to walk more and strengthen those legs!

The choice doesn't end there though. How about a dinosaur that makes a click-clack noise when pulled? - or perhaps a mother hen with her brood following along. There is even a crocodile whose legs whiz up and down as he's pulled along. All these pull-along toys are made in bright, exciting colours to stimulate the child. Of course, in the world of high-tech gadgets it is imperative to remember that play - especially child's play - is a prime part of a child's development. By playing with 'real' toys - that is traditional toys - the child is not depending on TV or a computer to keep its attention. Don't forget to engage yourself in this play too. Parent to child bonding occurs much easier if you actually join in playing games with the children. They just love it when Mum or Dad starts acting 'silly' with them and it shows them that having fun is what their small lives are all about.

Indeed the idea has been broached that those children who watch TV, or play computer games to excess, have very short concentration spans. They also tend to become depressed, morose and generally irritable from too much screen time. Better then to encourage the child in games of make-believe or role playing to flex those brain 'muscles' and it's never too early to start. Today's children are probably the most privileged in our history. Unfortunately though, they also tend to be the unhealthiest with the worst diets and exercise regime. A child who is taught to exercise through play will probably exercise more in adulthood as it had the routine instilled whilst it was young.

So perhaps it is a wise person who gives a traditional toy that will both exercise the brain as well as the body. The pull-along toy could be just the encouragement a child needs to promote a long, healthy and productive life.
