The Saatchi Gallery Online http://www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk is driving a craze amonst enthusiasts of contemporary art with the popularity of their new website reaching over 50 Million hits a day.

The Saatchi Gallery is a London gallery for contemporary art, opened by Charles Saatchi (described both as a 'supercollector' and as 'the most successful art dealer of our times'.)in 1985 in order to show his immense yet diverse art collection to the public. Charles Saatchi's art collection, and hence the gallery's shows, have had distinct phases, starting with US artists and minimalism, moving on to the Damien Hirst-led Young British Artists, followed by shows purely of painting and more recently promoting once again art from America in an exhibition entitled USA Today at the Royal Academy in London.
The Saatchi Gallery has had a phenominal influence on art in Britain for over 20yrs. Many artists shown at the gallery are unknown not only to the general public but also to the commercial art world: showing at the gallery has provided a springboard to launch careers. It has also had a history of media controversy, which it has courted, and has had extremes of critical reaction.
The Saatchi Gallery moves to new premises in Chelsea, opening in November 2007. The gallery is currently refurbishing a 50,000 square foot space in the Duke of York's Headquarters on the Kings Road in London. The new Saatchi Gallery website currently recieves over 50 million hits a day with ver 20,000 artists having joined up so far.
